New housing units have been popping up all around Silverthorne for a few years now, and even more are on the drawing board.
Lina Lesmes, Silverthorne planning manager, said there are a lot of housing projects in the works right now, but that it has been this way for about three years as Silverthorne is growing in popularity.
“It’s just really exciting to see all the interest in Silverthorne and the town really transform,” Lesmes said. “I would love it if we could see more workforce housing development.”
Lesmes said the market is delivering more and more market-rate housing developments, while the town is spearheading workforce housing projects. The town was able to start the Smith Ranch workforce housing development thanks to voter-approved funding.
Stockport woman killed in Morgan County Crash

MARIETTA A Stockport woman was killed in a crash early Wednesday morning in Morgan County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Marietta, 46-year-old Tracy Herrick was ejected from the Jeep Wrangler she was driving around 3:15 a.m.
She had been heading south on Bald Eagle Road when she went off the right side of the roadway and overturned the vehicle.
Authorities said she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marietta Post.
The Morgan County Sheriff s Office, Stockport Volunteer Fire Department and M&M EMS all helped at the scene.

Two men sought in the shooting of a man in Commerce were captured in Athens Tuesday evening following a vehicle pursuit that began in Jackson County and ended in Athens.
The two men were wanted for the shooting of a man at a home on Woodbine Street, who received a non-life threatening bullet wound, according to Commerce Police Det. Sgt. Dave Galloway.
The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, although police were initially called to the location for a dispute, according to Galloway.
Commerce police were dispatched to the shooting at 6:46 p.m., but the suspects had already left the scene, the detective said.
