WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - The family of the man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Walker County now plans to file a lawsuit. The family held a press conference with their attorney Tuesday.
The attorney for the family of Fredrick Hight wouldn’t give specific details about the federal lawsuit he plans to file soon, but he said this case brings serious concerns about excessive use of force and incorrect use of deadly force.

A man is dead following a violent encounter with a law enforcement officer in Walker County, Alabama, Friday.
Officers responded to a domestic violence related 911 call Friday night, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office. The caller was a man who said he was having an altercation with his mentally ill son, according to a source with knowledge of the events, WBRC reports.
