According to Vanderburgh County Dispatch, the incident happened on the 1300 block of North Fifth Avenue and Florence Street. Detectives with the Evansville Police Department say the 9-1-1 call came in just after 3:20 a.m. After being transported to the hospital, the victim, a male, later died. 44Nnews has reached out to the Vanderburgh County Coroner s office for more details on the victims age.

Smith says the eastbound lanes of Diamond Avenue are back open after the head-on crash. He says one driver was taken to Deaconess to be checked out but says there are no serious injuries. Sgt. Smith says both cars are totaled.
