HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI – Police released the name of the man who was found unresponsive on a Hillsdale County sidewalk.
Richard Leo Carpenter, 67, of North Adams died Feb. 8, Michigan State Police said. He was found unresponsive around 6:30 a.m. on a sidewalk near Rainbow Mist Car Wash, 122 Hillsdale St., in North Adams, on the northwest side of Hillsdale County.

ADAMS TWP. A man collapsed on a Hillsdale County street and died, but police do not expect foul play.
Michigan State Police of the Jackson post reported the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Monday in Adams Township, Hillsdale County.
Troopers were dispatched on a report of an unresponsive male on the sidewalk near the Rainbow Mist Car Wash in North Adams. Upon arrival, troopers found a 67-year-old from North Adams had been walking on the sidewalk after visiting a local convenience store when he collapsed.
A cause of death has yet to be determined but foul play is not suspected. The investigation is being conducted by the Hillsdale/Lenawee County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Michigan State Police Jackson post. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
