Azerbaijan operator Azercell Telecom said it has expanded the network coverage significantly to 85.3% of the population by end of March 2021, soared from 35.9% of January 1, 2019. Meanwhile, its geographical coverage surged to 72.8% during this period.
Last year alone, the geographical coverage of Azercell s LTE network was expanded by about 11%, both in terms of population and territory, said a press release from the mobile operator.

The leading operator is extensively expanding the LTE network
Azercell will continue to improve its LTE network in 2021 to provide all its subscribers with a more stable network and higher speed internet. In virtue of the activities in this regard, the coverage of Azercell s LTE network has been significantly enlarged since the beginning of this year.
Last year alone, the geographical coverage of Azercell s LTE network was expanded by about 11%, both in terms of population and territory. During the implementation of the expansion project to the end of March 2021 the network s population coverage increased to 85.3%, while geographical coverage surged to 72.8%.

January 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azercell Telecom has successfully continued its activities to strengthen the LTE network in 2020. The mobile operator significantly expanded the LTE network coverage, facilitating the provision of better service to subscribers throughout the country.
As a result of the operations carried out, Azercell’s LTE network coverage increased from 74.2% to 85.1%, while the geographical area of the network was expanded from 61.4% to 72.4% last year. Since the launch of the LTE network improvement project in January 2019, the coverage of Azercell s LTE network has increased from 35.9% to 85.1%, and the geographical coverage surged from 22.5% to 72.4%.

As different service providers make progress in setting up the technology infrastructure, worldwide 5G coverage is projected to keep growing significantly, as much as by 253.84% and reaching about 4.1 billion people by 2025, according to research from financial comparison site Bankr.
If realised, this would be coverage of around 53% of the global population and see massive growth from the end of 2020, which, said the analysis, is likely to see about 15% of the world population – or 1.17 billion people – have access to the technology. The report also predicted that by 2021, about 25% of the global population will likely have 5G coverage.
