Seaspan submitted an application for a review of the plan to the port in April. That federal authority deemed the application complete on June 21, opening up a public comment period. That included virtual public meetings July 13 and 15, and ends July 30.

The clinic is designed for all families and adolescents visiting Playland, as well as anyone in the nearby area. First doses will be prioritized for those above the age of 12; second doses will be available for individuals who received their second dose at least seven weeks ago if capacity allows.
Immunization will be available between 11 am and 5 pm; no admission ticket to Playland is needed to access the clinic.
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is also hosting a number of pop-up summer clinics at other popular locations, including North Vancouver’s Shipyards and Squamish’s Brennan Park Recreation Centre.

To accommodate the expansion of the facility, called the Vancouver Dry Dock, the existing small drydock would be relocated 40 metres to the south of its current position. This is all achieved by expanding Seaspan’s water lot lease by 40 metres to the west towards the publicly accessible Burrard Dry Dock Pier and the recently-built The Shipyards district redevelopment of commercial and residential buildings, and public spaces.
