ISTANBUL The Canada-based mining company Alamos Gold announced Tuesday it would seek more than $1 billion from Turkey for “expropriation and unfair and inequitable treatment” regarding a halted gold mining project in the country’s northwestern Canakkale region.

Turkey to hold 1 GW solar tender between March 8-12
The tender will be open to PV projects ranging in size from 10 to 20 MW. The Turkish government has set a ceiling price of TRY0.35 ($0.047)/kWh for the procurement exercise. The selected facilities will be located across 74 grid connection points and will have to rely on locally produced modules.Turkey s Ministry of Energy has announced the 1 GW solar tender it announced in July of last year will be held over a five-day period between March 8-12, 2021. In a document published in the country s official journal, the Turkish government specified that it set a ceiling price of TRY0.35 ($0.047)/kWh .

First Turbine Module Delivered for Turkish Nuclear Plant
Turkey’s first nuclear power plant reached a milestone with delivery of the first steam turbine module for the project, four months ahead of schedule.
GE Steam Power, which is supplying all the major equipment for the plant’s four turbine islands, on Jan. 12 announced it had delivered the module to Atomenergomash, an engineering company and the nuclear power division of Rosatom, Russia’s state-owned nuclear power company.
