Suspect in fatal Warren shooting arrested, police say Warren  A 27-year-old man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man Friday, police said. Officers were called about 3:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a shooting at the Warren Manor Apartments on Dequindre Road just north of Eight Mile, they said. They arrived and found the victim, who had been shot five times in the head and neck. A preliminary investigation revealed the man had been shot as he lay on a parking lot. Officials said he was shot three times in the head while he was on the ground.

Warren police take down deadly drug operation, 4 charged

Detroit Free Press Following a monthlong intensive investigation, four men have been charged in connection with a drug trafficking operation that was distributing deadly fentanyl in four counties, Warren police announced Tuesday. The investigation was kicked off in early November after the death of a 47-year-old Warren resident. In 2020, overdoses increased by 18.8% just in Warren and overdose deaths increased by 89.6%, Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said. The four men  three are in custody and one is being sought by police are facing charges including conducting a criminal enterprise, three counts of conspiracy to deliver fentanyl and three counts of delivering/manufacturing fentanyl. Each charge is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
