List: Distance learning, parking bans initiated in anticipation of winter storm

January 31, 2021 4:22 pm PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Cities and towns throughout the state of Rhode Island have issued parking bans and school closures in anticipation of Monday’s winter storm. The City of Providence announced a parking ban throughout the city, which will go into effect on Monday, February, at 6 a.m. until further notice. The Providence Public School District said on Monday, schools will be moving to distance learning due to the inclement weather. Warwick police said a parking ban will be put in place from 6 a.m. on Monday until 3 p.m. Tuesday. Police in Woonsocket tweeted on Sunday, that a parking ban will go into effect starting Monday at 11 a.m.  The department urged residents to find off-street parking so DPW crews can properly plow streets.

The Warren Police Department is asking for the public’s help in seeking Gregory Dajour Stallworth, who is wanted in the death of Queysean Sallis. A police report posted Wednesday on social media says Stallworth should be considered armed and dangerous. Those having any information about Stallworth or his whereabouts are asked to call the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or text key word WANTED and tip to 847411 (tip411). Tipsters can remain anonymous, and reward money is available, the report states.

On Jan. 4, the Utica Police Department responded to a call reporting that a woman allegedly was throwing a dog into the Clinton River multiple times. Utica police found a woman holding a small, 6-month-old wet dog that appeared to have suffered some trauma.

Dan Bozek of the Warren Police Department said the suspect, described as white and 18-25 years old, was reportedly carrying a backpack when the victim saw him allegedly entering or attempting to enter his vehicle in the 14000 block of Knox Avenue.
