Police Officer Notices 73-Year-Old Woman s Lawn Is Overgrown, Then Mows Entire Yard

A Rhode Island police officer could not ignore an elderly woman s overgrown yard while on his routine patrol, so instead of ignoring it, he decided to mow he entire lawn. Officer Matthew Caradimos, who is with the Warwick Police Department, did a welfare check on the King Street neighborhood after noticing an unruly yard. Caradimos, who was curious to find out why the grass had been left to grow so much, knocked on he doo, but no one answered. In an attempt to find out more about the owner, he approached a neighbor.

Knott named West Warwick town manager

WEST WARWICK — After 27 years working in law enforcement for the Town of West Warwick, Col. Mark Knott will officially be wearing a new hat come the end of the month.  The West Warwick Town Council voted unanimously during its meeting last Tuesday night to adopt an ordinance naming Knott the town manager and director of public safety, before also voting unanimously to approve a three-year employment contract.  Knott, who has been serving as interim town manager since  Ernest Zmyslinski resigned from the post last fall, promised in his new role to “make well thought-out decisions” that will serve the town well.
