BELLEVILLE A patient claims his liposarcoma spread to his kidney due to negligent medical care and treatment.
Albert Routin, Jr., and Betty Routin filed a complaint Feb. 3 in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit for St. Clair County against Belleville Family Medical Associates LTD, Wallace Abel, M.D., Frances Perkins, PA-C, Douglas Despain, M.D., and Maegan Korte, NP alleging negligence.
The plaintiffs claim that Albert Routin came under the care of the defendants on Feb. 13, 2017. Then on March 22, 2020, Routin allegedly discovered he had liposarcoma and that the defendants failed to order additional testing and failed to treat him in a timely manner. He also claims that the defendants failed to refer him for further evaluation and testing for the treatment of his liposarcoma while he was under their care.
