Police charge man over aggravated break-in at Lake Illawarra
A man has been charged over an alleged aggravated break and enter in the Illawarra yesterday.
About 6am (Tuesday 13 July 2021), police will allege a man gained entry into a unit on Bent Street, Warrawong, via the kitchen window.
When inside, the man allegedly threatened a 68-year-old woman, who is known to him.
It will be alleged the man punched the woman in the head and stole her handbag, which contained cash and a mobile phone, before fleeing.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Police lay charges after police operation targeting organised crime across Sydney
Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged five men as part of ongoing investigations into organised criminal syndicates operating across Sydney.
In April last year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad established Strike Force Strond to investigate an alleged criminal syndicate involved in the importation and supply of illicit drugs across the state.
About 7.45am today (Tuesday 13 July 2021), detectives arrested a 23-year-old man at a home at Kogarah.
He was taken to Kogarah Station and charged with 12 offences including;
Aid and/or abet an attempted offence – import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug (x2),
