Date Time FOGO figures show big reduction in waste to landfill – Wollongong The FOGO summer figures are in, and we’re pleased to share that you’ve made a big difference to the amount of waste entering landfill at our Waste Depot at Whytes Gully. While it’s still too early for the data to show long-term changes to the behaviour of Wollongong residents, the significant reduction in waste headed to the tip is a positive step for our environment. In July 2020, four months prior to the launch of FOGO, our community was sending on average 3540 tonnes of red bin waste per month to landfill. During the first four months of 2021, this dropped to an average of 3120 tonnes per month.
