Welfare check unveils deceased 71 year-old man; Possibly related to self-extinguised fire Search By Office of Maryland State Fire Marshal CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (January 17, 2021) Deputy State Fire Marshals are continuing their investigation of a house fire in Waldorf that claimed the life of the owner. On Sunday, January 17, the Charles County Sheriff s Office was dispatched to a house in the 2000 block of Bainbridge Court to check the homeowner s well-being. Upon their arrival, sheriff s deputies had to make forcible entry into the home. Upon entering the home, deputies discovered a fire that had self-extinguished and a deceased male victim. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause investigation along with the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department for precautionary purposes.

January 11, 2021 On Monday, January 11, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of the Roy Rogers located at 2690 Crain Highway in Waldorf, for the reported motor vehicle collision with multiple patients trapped. Crews arrived on the scene to find four vehicles in the roadway with one patient trapped, crews immediately requested a helicopter. Firefighters extricated one patient in approximately 15 minutes. Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 landed at the scene and transported one adult female to an area trauma center with serious injuries. Incident command reported at least one patient signed care refusal forms on the scene, and two patients being transported to area hospitals with various injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
