(Will Waldron/Times Union)Will Waldron/Albany Times Union I was pleased to read in the article A trail for Albany trailblazer, May 12, that the City of Albany dedicated a walking trail in the Tivoli Lake Preserve to Brother Yusuf Burgess. Brother Yusuf dedicated a substantial portion of his adult life to working with and inspiring young people of Albany. His life demonstrated that it is possible to overcome youthful difficulties to become a respected and admired community leader. The Brother Yusuf Burgess Trail will stand as a reminder of his values and generosity.

Albany police said they received a call for gunshots at 1 p.m., at about the same time a 33-year-old man entered the emergency department with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police said the man s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
