Sheehan received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine just after 2:30 p.m. I m not kidding. It was absolutely painless. I know we tell our kids it s not going to hurt, but this really didn t hurt.
The Armory site is tasked with giving 1,000 shots a day to people living in underserved areas. We re getting some pretty decent diversity in there. I did ask the director here from FEMA who s running this site about the diversity, still not where we want it to be. But I think we also have to recognize that we ve also been successful because there s more vaccine of getting it into the neighborhoods as well.

Carl Jackson is eager to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I’ll be able to rest easy once I have it,” the 87-year-old Schenectady resident told me, while volunteering at the food pantry at Schenectady Community Ministries. “I’ll feel very comfortable, having something in my body that can help me fight the disease.”
Jackson’s age places him at higher risk of developing a severe illness or dying from COVID-19, but he hasn’t tried to get a vaccine appointment yet, for a couple of reasons.

Spirit Airlines had the lowest percentage of canceled flights in 2020, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s year-end report, released in late February.
Of Spirit’s 135,102 scheduled flights, 2,964 were canceled, or 2.19 percent, up from 1.75 percent of flights in 2019.
All airlines saw an increase in cancelations, likely a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused significant changes in airline schedules and operations.
Allegiant Air had the highest percentage of canceled flights, canceling 14,296 of its 98,489 planned flights, or 14.52 percent, up from less than one percent the year before.
Madden is one of the first Capital Region residents to receive the single-shot Janssen vaccine.
Following his vaccination, Madden encouraged all Troy residents to schedule an appointment when eligible to build community immunity against COVID-19.

âThe science is clear: vaccines are safe and effective in protecting you against COVID-19, Madden stated. Most importantly, they are free to the public. I urge all Trojans to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible, Madden explained on the vital importance of becoming vaccinated. Until you can, please continue to follow public health guidelines like wearing a mask and social distancing to reduce community spread, Madden added.
