Man arrested in wreck that killed two motorcyclists in Des Moines Ben Yoder, Des Moines Register
A 29-year-old Des Moines man has been arrested in a crash that killed two motorcyclists on Tuesday.
Quntonio Herron, 29, has been charged with homicide by vehicle-reckless driving; serious injury by vehicle-reckless driving; leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death; and driving while license denied/suspended.
Jerry Coles, 51, and his passenger, Kristy Hyde, 47, both of Des Moines, died after their motorcycle was struck by a car allegedly driven by Herron in the intersection of East 14th Street and Washington Avenue. Another motorcyclist on a separate bike was also hit and was in serious condition at a local hospital, police said.

Hundreds gathered at the intersection of East 14th Street and Washington Avenue on Wednesday night the site where two Des Moines motorcyclists were killed the night before.
Jerry Coles, 51, and his passenger, Kristy Hyde, 47, were traveling on East 14th Street Tuesday. They attempted to turn onto Washington Avenue when they were struck by a vehicle reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, according to police. Another motorcyclist on a separate bike was also hit and is in serious condition at a local hospital, police said.

LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - Authorities say they on Wednesday arrested a suspect in a Lorain shooting that left a man suffering from a wound to the head.
Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Luiz Roman, 25, who was wanted by the Lorain police for felonious assault, according to a task force press release.
Authorities say Roman was riding a bicycle in the area of Washington Avenue Wednesday when he allegedly shot into a vehicle. A man in the vehicle was struck in the head, and Roman fled the area.
