Emergency crews responded just before 4 a.m. after a semi-truck driving southbound on Cornelius Schefflin struck a car between Wren and Kerkman roads, said Sheriff’s Deputy Brian van Kleef. The passenger in the car was LifeFlighted, and the driver taken by ambulance to a hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured, van Kleef said.

An elderly Beaverton man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday evening, Feb. 20. The Washington County Sheriff s Office has identified the victim as 86-year-old Donald Ray Harvey. The WCSO said the driver has been located and the suspect vehicle has been recovered, but did not immediately provide any more details. According to the WCSO, around 7:40 p.m. Feb. 20, deputies responded to a report of an injured pedestrian near Southwest Clark Hill Road and Tile Flat Road in unincorporated Beaverton. A motorist driving in the area noticed there was a man lying near the roadway and stopped to check on him. Witnesses found that the male was gravely injured and that it appeared he had been hit by a car.
