¯ The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. today in the Community Room of the main building.
¯ Washington County Relay for Life will hold its first monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Marietta VFW picnic area on Pike Street to discuss ideas for the upcoming season. ¯ The Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Reno Water office, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested because of COVID-19.

Washington State Community College held an open house for its Robotics Automation Engineering program on Monday, with plans to hold another session today.

Washington State Community College hosted its board of trustees Monday to review not only the partnership of the college with the Washington County Career Center in robotics, but also concerning the renovation of the health sciences wing of the college and updates to the delivery of the physical therapist assistant curriculum.

With a construction budget of $2,012,825 for renovations to the existing main (health and sciences) building of the college, the board approved an additional maximum expenditure of $167,430 for architectural and engineering services Monday.

Marietta City Schools’ upper elementary and early schooling curriculum will be adapting to meet the needs of students as the district consolidates from six academic buildings to four in the next school year.
The district will have the opportunity to reach students who are excelling and struggling with STEM, Talented and Gifted, summer school options and a change of curriculum.
Tim Fleming, current assistant principal at Marietta High School and future director of curriculum and technology at MCS, said the biggest changes to the district’s curriculum will be in math and social studies.
