jpatterson@mariettatimes.com Investigation into sexual and alcohol-related allegations in an anonymous letter to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office will net the second appearance of a former Marietta Middle School basketball and track coach in front of Marietta Municipal Court next week. Crystal Dawn Burke, 41, of 6625 State Route 60, Lowell, appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on Monday for a reading of the six charges against her, all third-degree felony counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. “Today wasn’t even a preliminary hearing, it was just the reading of the charges and allowing her time to get an attorney,” explained Joe Derkin, an assistant prosecutor with the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Holshu, 33, of 752 Covey Court, Belpre, was indicted on one count of first-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs. He was arrested after reportedly being found in the 700 block of Second Street, Marietta, in October 2019 with more than five times the bulk amount for methamphetamine.

As of press time Monday, 18 days before the city’s blight lawsuit status conference in Washington County Common Pleas Court, logs and stumps from that tree were still strewn across the yard of the property. Forty-three days after drug paraphernalia within neighboring toddlers’ reach was removed from the front stoop of the top priority blighted structure of the city of Marietta, by city labor, the city lawsuit against the property has a date for a case management conference in Washington County Common Pleas Court, though no trial date has yet been set.
