Man faces charges in wife s shooting

A Hagerstown man accused in the Christmas Eve shotgun slaying of his wife opened presents with his children while his wife lay dead in their bedroom, authorities said. Raymond Carlington Clemetson, 42, of 286 Potomac Heights, told police he and his wife, Megan Clemetson, had been arguing over a personal matter, according to the charging document. Clemetson called 911 at 4:51 p.m. and told a dispatcher he and his wife had argued earlier on Dec. 24 and said there was a shotgun involved, the document said. He said his wife needed medical attention and that the shotgun was in the bedroom closet. He said he would be waiting outside for police to arrive.

Two charged with shooting at each other during argument in Hagerstown

Two men accused of firing at each other during an argument on Jonathan Street last week were denied bail Monday during hearings in Washington County District Court. Elijah Jamar Moore, 24, of Jonathan Street and 40-year-old Rashard Dontel Wise, listed in court records as homeless, were both charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder and assault, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, being felons in possession of firearms and other offenses on accusations they traded gunfire shortly before 11 p.m. on Dec. 23. Hagerstown police were called to the intersection of Jonathan and West Bethel streets for a report of shots fired, the document said. An anonymous caller reported seeing one man putting a handgun into his pocket and walking toward Murph Avenue.

A Montgomery County man has been charged with first-degree murder and 18 other counts in connection with the shooting of a Hagerstown man Tuesday morning. Lauron Zacherie Hoyle, 35, of Montgomery Village, Md., was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon, police said. He was being held in Montgomery County on Friday in connection with the death of Kalen Nathaniel Black, 21, of Hagerstown. According to the charging documents on file in Washington County District Court, Black was killed inside a residence at 17427 Fair Oaks Court in the Valley Meadow Townhomes development. Fair Oaks Court is in a neighborhood bordered by Virginia Avenue, Halfway Boulevard and Massey Boulevard.
