Officer Who Shot Daunte Wright Charged With Second-Degree Manslaughter Kimberly Potter, 48, was charged by Washington County Attorney Peter Orput. Potter was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m. by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and later booked into the Hennepin County Jail, where she will await her first court appearance in the shooting of Daunte Wright. “Certain occupations carry an immense responsibility and none more so than a sworn police officer,” Imran Ali, Washington County assistant criminal division chief and director of the Major Crime Unit, said in a statement. “With that responsibility comes a great deal of discretion and accountability.
