VOP warrant results in methamphetamine arrest Posted on A Washington County woman was arrested in her home on felony drug charges after deputies executed a state violation of probation warrant. On Tuesday, April 13th, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Tharpe Rd. after receiving a tip that an occupant of the home, 48-year-old Wendy Irene Riley, had an outstanding state probation warrant. Riley was placed on probation on previous drug related felony charges stemming from 2019. A search of the home revealed multiple paraphernalia items and a small baggy containing what later field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Reports/Ohio State Highway Patrol ¯ A two vehicle collision occurred April 2 on Ohio 60 in Muskingum Township. Annette G. Morgan, 63, of 411 Strecker Lane, Marietta, and Kenneth F. Huck, 68, of 3980 Huck Road, Lowell, were both southbound on Ohio 60. Morgan’s 2016 Toyota RAV4 was stopped for a traffic light. Huck failed to stop his 2010 Chevy Cobalt within an assured distance and struck Morgan’s vehicle. Huck was cited for driving at a speed that wouldn’t permit him to stop within the assured clear distance ahead. ¯ Ricky A. Koscho, 40, of 109 Keyser St., Marietta, was south-westbound April 2 on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township. Brianne Lee Croker, 21, of 288 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, was eastbound on Ohio 550, turning left onto Ohio 7, going northbound. Croker failed to yield the right of way in her 2008 Ford Escape and struck Koscho’s 2021 Dodge Ram. Croker was cited for not yielding the right of way.

Two Minors Injured as a Result of Drag Racing Incident in Kalona Thursday

A three-vehicle incident resulted in two injuries Thursday afternoon in Kalona. Agencies responded to the intersection of 7th Street and E Avenue, or Highway 22, at about 3:33 p.m., and after speaking with two witnesses of the incident, it was determined that two pickup trucks driven by Connor Shalla of Wellman and Keegan Gingerich of Kalona were stopped on E Avenue facing eastbound, when the drivers were observed to initiate a drag race, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Both pickup trucks accelerated in an excessive manner traveling eastbound through the intersection. A third pickup truck driven by Alma Herrera of Kalona was traveling southbound through the intersection when it was struck on the rear, passenger side axle area by Shalla’s vehicle. The force of the collision ripped the rear axle off and caused the third pickup to make a 90-degree turn, eventually coming to rest outside of the roadway.

FOP Lodge arson suspect arrested by fugitive task force

Staff Report LANCASTER – The suspect in the February fire at the FOP Lodge on South High Street was taken into custody in Mason on Thursday by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team. Kenneth Dawson, 34, of Lancaster, has been charged arson, retaliation, possessing criminal tools, and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance in Fairfield Common Pleas Court, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshal s Office. The charges stem from an arson occurring on Feb. 27, where Dawson allegedly started a fire at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #50, located at 351 S High St in Lancaster. Prior to the arson incident, Dawson was arrested and released by a law enforcement agency for operating a vehicle impaired.
