The extreme heat is starting to wear down area roads, as many Inland Northwest cities are experiencing their hottest days on record. Pavement was buckled and cracked on US 195 north of Colfax. The highway continues to be open and crews anticipate starting the repairing process at early Wednesday morning. Currently, a temporary fix is in place. Crews have performed a temporary repair to US 195 at MP 57 north of Colfax to keep the roadway open.
