Three lanes of southbound I-5 are closed between N.E. 145th to N.E. 130th streets in Seattle due to buckled concrete. Further north in Shoreline, the Washington State Department of Transportation said two center lanes of northbound I-5 are blocked at NE 195th St. for buckled concrete.
WSDOT said that crews are at both scenes to make repairs, but it could take the better part of the evening commute to return the freeway to normal.
In Seattle at 145th, only the left lane and HOV are open, but all drivers are allowed to use the HOV lane. At 175th in Shoreline, the northbound HOV lane is also open to all traffic while crews make repairs at 195th.
