Many school districts are hosting vaccination clinics for staff members as doses of the vaccine become available. Author: Kathryn Gilker Updated: 7:03 PM CST January 22, 2021
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas Even though there aren’t enough doses to go around, hundreds of teachers and school employees have been lucky enough to get their first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine this week across Arkansas.
On Friday (Jan. 22) Fayetteville educators lined up at a drive-thru clinic to receive theirs.
“It just feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders that I’m a little more protected. I’ll still wear my mask and keep others protected but just the opportunity for a vaccine is great,” said Jodi Mears, a fifth-grade teacher at McNair Middle School.

Food 4 Nurses NWA delivering food to healthcare workers Share Updated: 10:01 PM CST Dec 20, 2020 SOURCE: Lauren Asbery Share Updated: 10:01 PM CST Dec 20, 2020 Food 4 Nurses NWA is making sure nurses working at our local hospitals are fed during their long shifts. Lauren Asbery came up with the idea in June and hasn t looked back. We know how hard it is every day to put on that PPE equipment and look at the face of this virus, said Asbery. We want to be able to show the nurses that they have someone to stand by them and say, hey you are not alone we do care about what you are doing. Asbery takes donations on the group s Facebook page. Each month, she drops off snacks and even shower supplies for nurses that have to shower after shifts in the COVID unit. The strain of this virus will be felt by the healthcare workers for a while so I plan to continue this as long as the community is willing to help support, said Asbery.According

Two-thousand, one-hundred seventy crosses stand behind Forest Park Christian Church in south Tulsa, a memorial to Oklahomans who have died from COVID-19.
Pastor Bill Hemm is waiting for the others to catch up to reported deaths as of Saturday, and then each day forward as quickly as volunteers can paint them.
Hemm and others gathered to commemorate the memorial as the sun faded Saturday evening. Hemm said itâs a privilege, and personal, to host the memorial at Forest Park.
âThe reason we wanted to participate in this is two of those crosses are ours,â Hemm said. âTwo of those crosses are from Forest Park Christian Church. Our family is grieving just like everyone else.
