Man committed indecent act on rail journey

Train A MAN has been given a travel ban after he was convicted of committing a sex act on himself during a rail journey. Kevin Whittam, aged 59, of Hallstead Grove, Little Hulton, had denied outraging public decency whilst travelling on a train between Lancaster and Preston on October 10, 2019, but was convicted following a trial at Wigan Magistrates’ Court. He was fined £100 and ordered to participate in an offenders’ programme for 34 days plus 15 days of rehabilitation activities as well as £390 in costs and charge. Whittam was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years during which he is banned from approaching or communicating with children and is prohibited from travelling on any railway in England or Wales, whilst under the influence of any intoxicating substance or liquor.

Man in car A THUG who pulled his car over to spit in his ex-partner’s face has been given a suspended prison sentence. Magistrates told 61-year-old Mark Jenkinson: “This was an absolutely disgusting offence, particularly in light of the coronavirus situation. “You have absolutely no excuse for your behaviour. “You pulled over your car and quite deliberately spat in her face. “You had no idea whether or not you were carrying any infections, not only for coronavirus but for other diseases as well. “You need to address your attitudes and actions.” Jenkinson, of Manchester Road, Kearsley, had denied committing the offence, assaulting his former partner on February 12 last year but was convicted following a trial at Wigan Magistrates’ Court.
