There are 6,548 beds in Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), King George Hospital (KGH) and Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases (GHCCD). This apart, there are additional beds in six A category and 33 B category hospitals in the district, Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao has said.
Addressing a media conference after a review meeting with the officials here on Monday evening, the Minister said the hospitals have been categories into A and B categories. The A category hospitals would be fully converted into COVID-19 hospitals, while some of the beds in the B category hospitals would be allocated to meet the needs of COVID patients.

312 persons recover from coronavirus
The district recorded 565 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally to 69,012 as on Monday. The toll also increased to 571 after the death of two persons in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of cases and deaths reported this month are 6,714 and 25 respectively. On an average, 353 cases are being reported every day in the month.

District sees 298 new cases, behind only Guntur and Krishna
The district has recorded 298 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 63,894 as of Wednesday morning.
Wednesday’s count was the highest single-day tally reported this year, and also the highest in the last six months. The district has also recorded the third highest single-day tally in the State after Guntur (368) and Krishna (327) in the last 24 hours.

Two more deaths take toll to 552
The district recorded 262 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as on Tuesday morning.
This is said to be the highest single-day tally in this year, taking the total number of cases to 63,551.
According to health officials, this was also the highest single-day tally, since the last seven months.
The district also recorded two deaths, taking the tally to 552, since the outbreak of the pandemic, last March.
Hospitals in Hyderabad that can be used by TS as Covid vaccination centres

Hyderabad: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) released the list of private hospitals located in various districts including Hyderabad that can be used by states to expand the Covid vaccination drive. These hospitals are either empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat-PM-JAY scheme or the central government health scheme (CGHS).
