Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked all concerned to present the authentic history of the Liberation War before the new generation. History can t be erased. The authentic history of the Liberation War will have to be projected before the new generation, she said while addressing the 66th trustee board meeting of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust (FFWT) from her official residence Gono Bhaban.

Sheikh Hasina asked authorities concerned to preserve graveyards of freedom fighters and build memorial museums, so generation after generation can know the accurate history of the Liberation War.
She asked the trustee board members to identify insolvent freedom fighters and their family members and stand by them.
The PM said her government will build homes for all insolvent freedom fighters and their families.
The Prime Minister asked all concerned to speed up activities of the trustee board and stressed the need for holding regular meetings. She said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had formed the trust for the welfare of the country s best sons.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today announced that the minimum monthly allowance of valiant freedom fighters will be raised to Tk 20,000, from Tk 12,000.
The Prime Minister made the announcement while inaugurating the transfer of allowances to 168,000 valiant freedom fighters and their families through electronic fund transfer system from the Bangladesh Bank every month, using the management information system (MIS).
The event was held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium. Sheikh Hasina joined the programme from her official residence Gono Bhaban. Now, I think, Tk 12,000 is inadequate. There are many slots at the bottom of the freedom fighters list. We ll increase the amount to Tk 20,000 bringing the lower slots of the list in one place, she said.
Stripping Zia of Bir Uttam title: We will now look into the legal aspects, says Muktijoddha Council
A probe body of Jatiya Muktijoddha Council will meet soon to look into the legal aspects of revoking gallantry awards given to late president Ziaur Rahman and killers of Bangabandhu and their patronisers.
The council at a meeting on Tuesday decided in principle to revoke the gallantry awards of Zia and self-declared four killers of Bangabandhu - Shariful Haq Dalim, Nur Chowdhury, Rashed Chowdhury, and Mosleh Uddin.
Zia, the four others, and their families would not get any state facilities for their role in the country s Liberation War, the council decided.
More than seven months after the publication of the new list of freedom fighters, the government has cancelled the freedom fighter certificates of 52 people. The liberation war affairs ministry issued a notification on Tuesday in this regard following the National Freedom Fighters Council Act 2002.…
