Even with the pandemic forcing adoptions to be ran by appointment only, the Humane Society of London & Middlesex (HSLM) was still able to exceed their usual amount of pet adoptions for the year.
Claire Belsheim, the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator at HSLM believes that the influx is by result of more people working from home and wanting a furry co-worker.
“They feel like this would be a really good time to adopt because they’re home more. They can spend more time with the pet, do training and those types of things” Belsheim explains.
