WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Winston-Salem Police Department says a man has serious injuries after a shooting near the intersection of Ogburn Avenue and Akron Drive.
Police were called to the scene Friday night, around 10:15 p.m. Once they arrived, they found a man in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound in his upper thigh.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said the man was in stable but critical condition.
Police said the man was involved in an altercation with an unknown suspect, and at some point during the altercation, the victim was shot by the suspect.

A minor is being held at a juvenile facility with no bond after being accused of killing a 25-year-old woman.Winston-Salem police say on May 16, officers responded to the 2800 block of Piedmont Circle after reports of a shooting.When officers arrived, Latasha Finney, 25, of Winston-Salem, was found on the ground in front of an apartment building with a gunshot wound.Finney was pronounced dead at the scene.A 33-year-old man, identified as Steven Seward, was also shot but has been treated and released from the hospital. Preliminary information indicates that the victim and her attacker were known to one another, police say. The attacker was identified as a juvenile. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to a secure juvenile facility with no bond.
