New Delhi [India], May 13 (ANI): Bhubaneswar Airport and its stakeholders are playing an active role by facilitating seamless transportation of medical equipment and materials 24x7, informed the Airports Authority of India on Thursday.
According to the official statement, a total of 669 boxes of 20.53 Metric Tonne of Covid vaccine have been transported through various airlines till May 9, 2021, from the Bhubaneswar Airport. To overcome the oxygen crisis for the country, a total of 156 empty oxygen tankers, 526 oxygen concentrators, 140 oxygen cylinders were transported by 75 Indian Air force aircraft like C17, C130J, AN 32 from April 23, 2021, to May 11, 2021, it said.

Member of Parliament and chairperson of Thoothukudi Airport Advisory Committee K. Kanimozhi on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the ongoing development works in the airport. As the Thoothukudi Airport, which is handling only smaller aircrafts now, has started the work on extension, widening and strengthening of the runway from the existing dimension of 1,349 meters X 30 meters to 3,115 meters X 45 meters for handling wide-bodied aircrafts, perimeter road, compound wall, new terminal building, Air Traffic Control Tower, new fire station, car parking area etc., Ms. Kanimozhi reviewed the progress of these works.

New Delhi [India], May 6 (ANI): The Airports Authority of India on Thursday informed that AAI Airports facilitate the rapid and safe delivery of vaccines, oxygen and essentials across the country as the country is battling with the second wave of coronavirus.
The Airports Authority of India in collaboration with its subsidiary AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company Limited (AAICLAS) is playing a key role in facilitating the rapid and safe delivery of large volumes of doses of vaccines, oxygen containers and other medical equipment needed for the hospitals and towards the vaccination campaigns across the country.

Despite opposition from the State and cases in the Supreme Court, the Airports Authority of India on Tuesday signed concession agreements with Adani Airports Ltd for operations, management and development of the Thiruvananthapuram international airport via PPP mode for 50 years.
In New Delhi, the agreements were exchanged between N.V. Subbarayudu, ED (SIU), Airports Authority of India, and Behnad Zandi, CEO, Adani Airports. The concession agreements of Jaipur and Guwahati airports were signed and exchanged.
