Vietnam’s year-end solar installation figure of 9GW captured headlines in January 2021. But how did Vietnam grow its cumulative solar installations from a 2018 base of 106MWp, according to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Renewable Capacity Statistics, to year end 2020 cumulative PV capacity of over 19.4GWp?

West Virginia Governor s Office issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
Gov. Jim Justice and other West Virginia officials hosted cabinet dignitaries from the nation of Vietnam for a virtual ceremony Wednesday evening, during which leaders of both governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will bolster economic relations between West Virginia and Vietnam into the future.
“This is truly a historical moment,” Gov. Justice said. “International trade – working together with one another – is so important to West Virginia.”
The MOU was signed by Gov. Justice and Vietnam Vice Minister of Industry and Trade, Do Thang Hai, in witness of Vietnam Minister of Industry and Trade, Tran Tuan Anh.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. West Virginia officials have signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade related to the state’s commodities.
Gov. Jim Justice, state Commerce Secretary Ed Gaunch and U.S. Rep. Carol Miller, R-W.Va., participated in the announcement Wednesday, as did representatives of Vietnam.
“International trade and working together with one another is so, so important to West Virginia,” Justice said. “As we move forward in all of the areas that can benefit each other whether they be energy, agriculture or aerospace all of the different things that are available to each and every one of us, we look forward to working very closely with you.”
