Vietnam to develop exports through foreign retail systems

Banks to lead Vietnam s market growth in 2021: experts

HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): The banking sector is still worth an investment in 2021 on expectations the Vietnamese economy and business community will recover as the pandemic is under control, experts have said. According to SSI Research, 13 listed banks on the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange, which account for 27.4 per cent of the southern bourse’s market capitalisation, posted a 6.6 per cent year-on-year increase in third-quarter total pre-tax profit that climbed to VNĐ29.7 trillion. If the figure excluded Vietcombank’s 21 per cent year-on-year profit downturn, the others’ pre-tax profit gained 14.7 per cent year-on-year thanks to the strong growth of revenues and lower increases in risk provisions and operating costs.

Amazon sets up seller centre in Vietnamese language

VNA/VNS HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): The Japan Centre for Economic Research (JCER) has predicted that Vietnam will become an upper-middle-income country in 2023, and its GDP will surpass that of China’s Taiwan in 2035. The JCER recently released a medium-term forecast of Asian economies entitled “Asia in the coronavirus disaster: Which countries are emerging?”, which addresses the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and looks at how Asian economies are faring compared with others around the world. In the standard scenario, JCER assumes that the pandemic is a transient event that will not affect economic structures over the medium term.
