Inmate Clarence Ferris back in custody after September 2020 escape

KNBN NewsCenter1 April 16, 2021 Ferris was arrested in Rapid City on April 15 and is being held at the Pennington County Jail. He is serving a five year sentence with one year suspended for possession of a controlled substance, a two year sentence for eluding, and a five year sentence for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substances. All of those convictions are from Pennington County. Leaving a non-secure correctional facility without authorization constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
