The upcoming poultry facility in Al Ghana will satisfy up to 55 % of Bahrain’s increasing domestic consumption needs, said Works Minister.
The new project, realising in over an area of 500 thousand square meters, is being developed jointly with the private sector, said Essam Khalaf, the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.
The minister revealed this during a visit to the project site in Al Ghana and added that the government is pumping around BD3 million into this project as part of a wide-ranging move to ensure Bahrain’s food security.
“Bahrain is currently producing around 9 million chicks per year through Delmon Poultry Company,” the minister said.
