Glamping pod AN APPLICATION to extend a campsite to provide additional pitches and new glamping pods has been refused. Proposals to add to the site at Marl Barn, which is situated on Wigglesworth Road in Slaidburn, were rejected by the Ribble Valley Borough Council. There had also been intentions to build new welfare facilities and a toilet on the site. Forum Bar Whalley PUNTERS planning to visit a popular bar and kitchen will be able to sit outdoors when they re-open later this month. Bosses at The Forum, which is located on King Street in Whalley, applied to the Ribble Valley Borough Council to transform part their outdoor space into a terrace area with seating for up to 22 people. The plans have since been approved, meaning staff at the venue can now get to work on creating the perfect outdoor space for the summertime. Waddow Heights ALMOST a million pounds is to be spent on a town and its facilities as part of a planning agreement which will see 208 new homes built. A total of £985,960 will be spent in and around Clitheroe by the developers in charge of building Waddow Heights – a new housing estate located off Waddington Road. Plans for the development were approved by the Ribble Valley Borough Council in 2019 despite a raft of objections to the plans from those living in the area. Specific contributions include over £70,000 to be spent on improving provisions within the grounds of Clitheroe Castle, which will see an outdoor gym and adventure play area built.
