How Telling The Truth On Campus Gets You Persecuted

How Telling The Truth On Campus Gets You Persecuted May 28, 2021 “Words are violence.” “Cultural appropriation.” “Cisgender norms.” “Intersectionality.” These are some of the phrases aggressively (and endlessly) foisted upon American society. They are employed to attack and vilify the critics of wokeness. And they are spawned and perpetuated in the bogs of the liberal academy. Canadian free speech activist Lindsay Shepherd knows something about this pseudo-intellectual claptrap. She suffered through years of it at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, both before and after her now-famous decision as a teaching assistant of a communications studies course to present a Jordan Peterson clip regarding pronouns.

Province gives nearly $3M to local post-secondary schools to support virtual learning

KITCHENER Ontario is investing nearly $3 million in virtual learning projects at Waterloo s three post-secondary institutions. The funding will support 36 projects at Conestoga College, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. “Increasing virtual course offerings will provide an opportunity for the next generation of workers, innovators, researchers, and leaders to get the skills and training they need to succeed in their fields, when and where they need it, Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Mike Harris said in a news release. Virtual learning opportunities offered by Waterloo Region s postsecondary institutions will provide students with more flexibility and access to top-notch programs. This investment will benefit students for years to come as they develop the career skills they desire while learning from home,” said Amy Fee, MPP for Kitchener South-Hespeler, in the release.

More than half of Canadians anxious about post-pandemic life, study shows

KITCHENER More than half of all Canadians are anxious about returning to post-pandemic life, a new study found. The study conducted by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies surveyed more than 1,600 Canadians, with 52 per cent reporting they feel some level of anxiety related to returning to what life was like before the COVID-19 pandemic. The highest level of unease was reported among those between the ages of 18 and 24, with 68 per cent feeling some anxiety about a return to normal. I m also a little nervous, it s been a while and I don t know how it s going to be, said one Waterloo Region resident.
