Actor BD Wong to speak on Asian-American experiences during virtual event

LAS CRUCES - Award-winning actor, author and activist BD Wong, best known to audiences for his roles in “American Horror Story,” “Gotham” and “Jurassic Park,” will speak about his experiences with rejection, stereotyping and racism during this year’s Spring Speakers Series, presented by the William Conroy Honors College at New Mexico State University.
During the live virtual event, Wong will speak about the diverse experiences of Asian-Americans in contemporary society and the importance of minority representation in creative media. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. April 28. The event is free, but participants must register at https://honors.nmsu.edu.

Honors College Dean Phame Camarena said that in addition to providing support for the administration of the Honors College, Hubbell will be taking a leadership role in assessing and enhancing the honors curriculum to better promote student success while meeting the needs of the faculty and academic departments.
I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Hubbells record of administrative experience and faculty leadership, Camarena said. She has been intimately involved in Honors College activities for many years and possesses both an extensive knowledge of all things NMSU and a skill set that will help her hit the ground running
