Karvin Dhillon, 33, had denied being the man in the drivers’ seat. But just days before his trial at Swindon Crown Court on a dangerous driving charge, prosecutors produced a recording of a call with his insurers in which Dhillon admitted being the only one in the car. Judge Peter Crabtree stopped short of sending the Stratton man to prison immediately, noting he helped care for his mother and owned a car parking business near Heathrow that employed six people.

He was three times the cocaine driving limit. The 33-year-old had been due to stand trial this week on allegations of dangerous driving and driving a vehicle while over the specified drug limit, claiming he wasn’t behind the wheel.
