College benefit concert traces 100-plus years of Jewish music

Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts and Design department will present the virtual concert “Jewish Legacy XX: A Musical Project by Paul Cohen and Anna Keiserman,” streaming live 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, from the Branchburg campus’ Edward Nash Theatre.
The program is the latest in a series launched to help defray the cost of private instructional lessons for RVCC music majors and is part of the department’s MOZAIKA concert series, created to promote multicultural dialogue through the performance of music from the classical canon through the 21st century.

While some of her classmates have focused on a specific interest, Cheshire High School senior Danielle Floyd doesn’t like to limit herself to one activity. Whether competing in softball and field hockey or baking food in the kitchen, she has enjoyed watching her skills develop over time.
“I like being creative and working with other people to make something special,” explained Floyd.

I spent last year’s Super Bowl the way I spend most Super Bowls surrounded by friends, eating unforgivable amounts of buffalo chicken dip, sipping beers and praying for my Super Bowl boxes to hit. They didn’t. I didn’t care, it was a great time.
