COVID-19 vaccines are on the way, but not in time to save the biggest party of the year. Since 2011, the Williams County Safe Communities Coalition and Grace Community Church have partnered to provide a “Safe Ride Home” for local party-goers on New Years Eve. But that has been canceled this year. “We were hopeful but after discussions with Grace Community Church personnel we decided last Thursday to cancel this year’s Safe Ride Home program,” Safe Communities Coordinator Peg Buda said. “Determining factors related to COVID-19 included the safety of the volunteer drivers and Governor (Mike) DeWine’s extending the curfew through Jan. 2, 2021.”
