Show Transcript BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT POLICE SAY EVERYONE IS SAFE AFTER A HOSTAGE SITUATION TURNED INTO A STANDOFF NOW ACCORDING TO BELTON’S INTERIM POLICE CHIEF A MAN WAS INSIDE A FAMILY-OWNED THRIFT STORE. THAT STORE IS CALLED THIS THAT AND THE OTHER INTERIM CHIEF ROSS RICHIE SAYS THAT THE STORE IS OWNED BY THE SUSPECT AND HIS MOTHER POLICE. SAY THE SUSPECT HAD A LOADED FIREARM WHENND A WAS THREATENING TO HARM HIMSELF AND LAW ENFORCEMENT NOWHE T SUSPECT’S MOTHER TOLD POLICE. SHE NOT BEING HELD HOSTAGE. A community conversation with local law enforcement in effort to improve community and police relations will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenville County Square. The event comes days after former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts in the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota.

Just before the jury began deliberations in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer found guilty of murder in the death of George Floyd, a member of the prosecutorial team told jurors to trust what they viewed. Evidence presented during the weeks-long trial included chilling footage of the moments leading up to Floyd s death bystander video and also recordings from the responding police officers own body-worn cameras.
