City police on Tuesday morning confirmed a shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m. Monday in Flanigan Park at the corner of Little League Boulevard and Walnut Street.
Police said in a statement Tuesday that they were able to recover evidence at the scene and are looking for witnesses. A short time after the investigation began, police responded to a call at UPMC Susquehanna’s Williamsport Regional Medical Center, where a young man was being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg. The statement from police said the wound was not life-threatening. The victim was released after being treated.
“This incident does not appear to be random,” the statement from police said. “A follow-up investigation, in this case, is currently being conducted by the Williamsport Bureau of Police Criminal Investigation Unit.”

A gunshot victim was being treated Thursday at UPMC Williamsport following a shooting inside a home in the 1500 block of Louisa Street in the city at about 9:10 p.m., according to reports from the scene.
The gunman, who was still being sought, kicked in a door and shot the victim, city police were told.
The victim, a juvenile male, reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the upper thigh to which emergency personnel applied a tourniquet in order to stop the bleeding, according to reports.
Using a K-9, officers were trying to pick up the trail of the suspect. The search was terminated on nearby Mount Carmel Street.
