Roundup by experts puts to rest common creatine misconceptions The paper was published last week in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition​.  It was authored by a group of experts, including JISSN editors-in-chief Jose Antonio, PhD and Richard Kreider, PhD. Research extends back to the early 1900s, and to date there have been more than 500 research papers published using the substance.  Creatine (methylguanidine-acetic acid) is formed by the body via reactions involving the amino acids arginine, glycine and methionine in the kidneys and liver.  In an exogenous sense the ingredient is primarily consumed in meat and/or as a dietary supplement.

Aker seeks ‘important protein player’ status with new ingredient derived from krill Krill oil specialist Aker BioMarine is taking the next step in deriving value from its raw material by launching a soluble protein that the company says has the complete amino acid profile and formulation flexibility to make it an important player in the market. The new protein is called INVI, which Aker CEO Matts Johansen captures one of the product’s prime differentiating attributes. Protein for clear beverages “‘INVI’ is short for invisible.  It’s a clear protein that’s fully soluble,” ​Johansen told NutraIngredients-USA. Johansen said the new protein is a hydrolyzed protein isolate with a complete amino acid profile.  The protein is also said to include minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
