The Model Bill intends to ensure protection of farmers from exploitation by middlemen and large corporate entities

All India Kisan Sabha has drafted an alternative farm law
All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), one of the constituents of the coalition of farmer organisations agitating against the Centre s new farm laws, has drafted an alternative law - Facilitation of Social Cooperatives for Agricultural Products (Processing and Marketing) Bill 2021 - for the consideration of state governments.
The Model Bill intends to ensure protection of farmers from exploitation by middlemen and large corporate entities. It will ensure additional wages for agricultural workers, additional price for products to farmers and provide remedies for related matters, says Hannan Mollah, General Secretary, AIKS.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) decided to shut the entry and exit games of four metro stations in Delhi on Thursday (February 18), keeping in view of the Rail Roko Andolan called by the protesting farmers. The four metro stations closed throughout the day fall on the Green Line of the Delhi Metro network.

Hisar, Feb 18: Asserting that they won t return home till the farm laws are repealed, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Thursday said farmers should be ready to sacrifice their standing crop for it.
Tikait said the government should not be under the impression that the movement against the laws will end as farmers will go to their villages to harvest their crop. Even if you have to set your standing crop on fire, you should be prepared for it. The government should not harbour this impression that farmers will return home. We will harvest crops and continue our agitation at the same time, he said addressing a mahapanchayat at Kharak Poonia village of Hisar.
