More than 150 people attended a meeting Wednesday evening at the Salem Lakes Fire Station No. 1/Highway Department Building to hear about the pending placement of two sex offenders at a Camp Lake Road address.
The meeting was organized by the Salem Lakes village government in answer to resident concerns.
Proposed to be placed under community supervised release are Brian Threlkeld and Dale Peshek, both convicted sex offenders designated as sexually violent persons on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Both were convicted of sexual assault of a child.

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) A sex offender convicted in 2015 will be moving in Marathon County under close supervision.
Joshua Neitzke, 35, was released into Marathon County at the end of 2020. Neitzke was convicted in January of 2015 on charges of 3rd-degree sexual assault and child enticement. He will be under supervision administered by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until January 1st of 2024.
Neitzke is moving from transitional housing near the Marathon County Courthouse to an apartment in the 500 block of N 6th Street in Wausau. He remains subject to GPS tracking by the Department of Corrections. Neitzke’ss ongoing address and status can be accessed through the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) A man convicted for multiple child pornography charges has reached the end of his prison sentence.
A release from the Stevens Point Police Department says Scott Szerlong is being released from prison on January 21st, 2021. Szerlong was convicted on 18 counts of possession of child pornography in 2017 in Portage County. He was also convicted on fraud and drug charges in 2017 as well.
Szerlong will live at 1504 Waters St. in Stevens Point and will be on strict supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He is being monitored by Sex Offender Agent Specialists and is subject to lifelong GPS monitoring. Szerlong is not allowed to have any unsupervised contact with minors, and must comply with standard sex offender rules including electronic monitoring and lifetime registry on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
