Tony Evers said Tuesday that his administration had struck a deal with the federal government to allow Wisconsin to continue receiving more than $70 million per month in food assistance.
The funding which was set aside for states with statewide COVID-19 emergency declarations had been in limbo ever since the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Evers’ last statewide emergency order and mask mandate.

According to a news release from the DHS, six cases of a blood clot called cerebral venous sinus thrombosis have been detected in the U.S., meriting a full stop on J&J vaccine administration.
“We are pausing administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine out of an abundance of caution. At this time, these adverse events appear to be extremely rare,” DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake said in the release. “Vaccine providers should not administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at this time, and should hold on to the vaccine until federal review has been completed.”
No new surge of COVID-19 appears for now in data from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. .
While scientists look into a potential connection between the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine and severe blood clots, health experts are also considering a risk of heightened vaccine hesitancy.
