Wisconsin DHS releases new online COVID-19 variant trackers

Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services answered questions and provided information about COVID-19 including vaccinations and variant strains.
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) on Thursday, April 8 released a new data table on its variant webpage that shows SARS-CoV-2 variant proportions by Health Care Emergency Readiness Coalition (HERC) region.
The variants page now also includes information on two additional variant strains of SARS-CoV-2: variants B.1.427 and B.1.429.
The DHS first identified these variants in Wisconsin in December 2020, and is now tracking them and displaying them publicly following the CDC s recent classification update on March 17, 2021.
Vaccination Clinic Opening at Wessman Arena Next Week
At this point, most people are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine and more places are being added to distribute the vaccine as quick as possible.
Starting Tuesday, April 13th Wessman Arena will become a temporary COVID-19 community-based vaccination clinic that will be open Tuesday - Saturday from 11 AM - 7 PM.
Anyone 16+ is eligible to register for the vaccine on the Wisconsin COVID-19 Vaccine Registry website. After you register on the website you ll be notified to schedule an appointment when openings become available.

They will be distributing at least 200 doses of the Pfizer vaccine at Wessman each day, with the ability to do 500 if supply is available. The clinic is being run by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare and is a partnership between Wisconsin Department of Health Services, UW System, AMI, and local health departments.

A COVID-19 vaccine clinic will open at the Siinto S. Wessman Arena on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus Tuesday, April 13. The clinic, run by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The site will administer the Pfizer vaccine.
Anyone ages 16 and older can schedule an appointment using the Wisconsin COVID-19 Vaccine Registry. Eligible individuals will be notified when openings become available. The site is expected to administer at least 200 doses per day, with the ability to provide up to 500 doses per day, depending on vaccine supply.
