They were reported as follows: 41 in Douglas County; 13 each in Ashland and Burnett counties; 11 in Sawyer County; 10 in Washburn County; seven in Taylor County; five in Price County; four each in Bayfield and Iron counties; and two in Rusk County.

The CDC recommended that after healthcare personnel and those in care facilities for extended periods of time, the COVID-19 vaccine should go to those over 75 years old and frontline essential workers, including firefighters, police officers and grocery store workers. According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wisconsin is currently providing vaccines to frontline healthcare workers, residents of long-term care facilities, firefighters and police officers. After this phase, phase 1b will start, which previously only included those who are 65 years of age or older.

(Carly Baldwin/Patch) WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI The Waukesha County Expo Center will open as a community vaccination clinic on Feb. 8, according to a news release. The Expo Center, located at 1000 Northview Rd., will expand vaccination sites that currently include area hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and fire stations. The Expo Center will initially complete vaccination of Phase 1A health care workers, emergency responders and certain members of the Phase 1B group as identified by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The Expo Center is not open to the public at this time.
